We are seeking a dynamic Research Science Community Manager to act as the primary liaison between academic researchers beta testing a bespoke data access tool and Reddit's Product team. This 6-month, part-time contractor position is critical for facilitating collaboration, supporting smooth communication, and ensuring the successful development of a non-commercial research platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, thriving in a cross-functional, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the main point of contact between beta testers and the Reddit Product team, ensuring clear and efficient communication.
  • Provide technical support, including onboarding researchers, debugging SQL queries, and explaining data schemas.
  • Synthesize researcher feedback and communicate actionable recommendations to the Product team.
  • Advocate for researcher needs while aligning with product objectives.
  • Manage researcher accounts, including access creation and removal.
  • Draft and review technical documentation, FAQs, and onboarding resources.
  • Host office hours and respond to support requests via Zendesk, Discord, and Reddit.
  • Collaborate with legal, product, and policy teams to address pain points and guide future development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in research coordination, stakeholder relations, or program management.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL and experience with data research tools like BigQuery.
  • Experience in customer account management and supporting academic researchers or volunteer organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex topics to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with documentation and collaboration platforms such as Confluence, JIRA, Slack, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience using Zendesk and Reddit platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Preferred: Experience in trust & safety, content moderation, coding/scripting (Python, Javascript, Matlab), and understanding of legal/ethical research frameworks.
