ICU Medical is seeking a Senior Engineer, Tooling to drive the development and implementation of advanced plastic component strategies for innovative medical device products. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and efficiency of IV therapy devices, working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions in healthcare technology.

Job Overview
  • Lead the execution of plastic component tooling and manufacturing strategies for ICU Medical’s advanced products.
  • Represent the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) business unit in multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide expert analysis and recommendations to senior management regarding manufacturing processes and tooling.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including PMOs, R&D, Operations, Procurement, and Supplier Quality to execute tooling initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize AME practices for tooling, process, and assembly changes.
  • Lead and troubleshoot the launch of plastic injection molded components for mechanical assemblies.
  • Partner with Procurement, Supplier Quality Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, and suppliers on supply and quality issues.
  • Contribute to design, testing, manufacturing start-up, and successful project launches.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with mold tooling and plastics processing technology.
  • Proven track record in launching plastic injection molded components for mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Systems, DFA/DFM, MSD concepts, and PFMEA.
  • Proficiency in CAD, Mold Flow analysis, and Scientific Molding methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in and lead complex cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).
  • Outstanding attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
