Job Overview

Ethena Labs is building the first crypto-based reward-accruing synthetic dollar protocol and Internet Bond, supported by industry-leading advisors and backed by major trading entities. We are seeking a hands-on engineering leader to manage the trading technology team, oversee system strategy and implementation, and ensure best-in-class execution capabilities for products like USDe and sUSDe.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain a robust trading platform enabling efficient, low-slippage execution of large trades.
Develop and optimize high-performance market data pipelines and integrate with multiple trading venues (REST/WS, FIX, and others).
Collaborate with quant, trading, and risk teams to drive new product and feature development, including trading strategies and execution logic.
Lead and mentor a team of trading technology engineers, fostering a culture of software excellence and innovation.
Ensure system performance, reliability, and availability through resilient architecture and best-in-class engineering practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven leadership experience in trading technology within investment banks, trading firms, exchanges, or market makers.
Extensive experience building and supporting trading systems, including market data handlers, algo engines, and execution platforms.
Strong software engineering fundamentals and expertise in modern development practices (TDD, BDD, CI/CD, SOLID principles).
Deep understanding of financial markets, trading mechanisms, and multi-venue infrastructure management.
Hands-on experience with crypto trading venues, derivatives (perpetual swaps, futures), and high-performance system design.
Excellent problem-solving skills and passion for software testing and automation.
Remote work experience and the ability to thrive in a flexible, collaborative environment.
