Issue
After double-clicking MCDC_START.jar, there is a prompt asking which application should be used to open the file.
Cause
Java is either not installed or .jar
files are not properly associated with Java. Install Java or check the file association is correct.
Solution
Re-run the JDK installer and, select repair and install the feature JAR Files Association under OpenJDK Runtime.

Cause
Network device is not reachable.
Solution
- Check that the device can be reached directly from the client hosting MCDC. If ping works, try telnet or ssh depending on the device type.
- Check that the address of the device is correct in MCDC (if a switch or bridge)
- If a controller reports this error, ensure that the controller name is resolvable by the host.
