Build Engineer, Turbomachinery

As a Build Engineer in Turbomachinery, you will be responsible for assembling and integrating prototype turbomachinery hardware, developing assembly instructions and alignment procedures, supporting rotor stacking and balancing, and collaborating with design and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate prototype turbomachinery hardware
• Develop precise assembly instructions and alignment procedures
• Support rotor stacking, bearing installation, balancing, and alignment operations
• Document assembly activities, observations, and lessons learned
• Prepare hardware for testing and validation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Strong interest in hands-on mechanical assembly and rotating machinery
• Basic understanding of GD&T, fits, torque, and alignment principles
• Comfort reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and CAD models
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work safely with precision hardware
