As the Lead Data Privacy Counsel, you will be responsible for advising on data protection, AI governance, and privacy compliance programs for the US & Americas. Your role will involve leading AI governance development, implementing AI governance programs, and embedding privacy-by-design with Product/Engineering teams. You will also draft and negotiate DPAs, cross-border transfer terms, and AI clauses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead data privacy counsel for US & Americas
  • Advise on data protection and AI
  • Develop privacy compliance programs for the Americas (GLBA, FCRA, CalFIPA)
  • Lead AI governance development and implement AI governance program
  • Embed privacy-by-design with Product/Engineering
  • Lead DPIAs/PIAs
  • Draft/negotiate DPAs, cross-border transfer terms, and AI clauses
  • Manage international data flows, transfers (SCCs), and data localization
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • U.S. legal qualification
  • License to practice in at least one US jurisdiction
  • 8+ years in-house or private practice advising on technology, data, and privacy
  • Strong knowledge of US privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, GLBA); GDPR/LGPD
  • Experience guiding privacy adtech requirements and consent frameworks
  • Translate legal/regulatory requirements into practical product designs and controls
  • AI governance, privacy program design
  • Incident response experience
  • Fintech/regulator exposure
