The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a contract Project Manager to join its Communications department. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Program Management, you will collaborate with project managers, writers, designers, marketers, and communications specialists to deliver projects aligned with the Foundation's annual goals. This is a fully remote role, ideally based in the Eastern Standard Time zone, working with colleagues across the globe. Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage cross-team communications projects and initiatives.
Support project planning, define team roles, and facilitate decision-making frameworks.
Track project progress, document outcomes, and lead retrospectives to identify best practices.
Foster healthy team dynamics and promote an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Identify and communicate project roadblocks, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of project management or related experience, preferably in remote and distributed teams.
Proficiency with Asana and Google Workspace tools.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
Effective interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities.
Experience in international, non-profit, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to work flexibly across time zones and handle ambiguity with resilience.
