The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Director of Data to lead its data strategy and operations. This remote, full-time role offers the opportunity to make a global impact by supporting Wikipedia and other free knowledge projects. The position is open to candidates located anywhere from UTC-8 to UTC+3 time zones.

Job Overview

Lead the Foundation’s data team and strategy.
Drive data initiatives to support free knowledge.
Oversee data infrastructure, analytics, and governance.
Collaborate across departments to ensure data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the organization’s data vision and roadmap.
Manage data teams, projects, and resources remotely.
Ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance.
Foster a culture of data innovation and transparency.
Support product development and research with actionable insights.

Proven experience in data leadership roles.
Expertise in data analytics, engineering, and governance.
