Job Overview

As an Engineering Manager for the Accelerator Platform at Anthropic, you will lead the team in building and integrating new accelerator platforms while collaborating with cloud partners and chip vendors. Your role will be pivotal in defining and implementing the platform normalization layer for seamless integration, contributing to Anthropic's multi-cloud compute strategy, and ensuring reliability and performance across various hardware platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and build the Accelerator Platform team
  • Own the bring-up lifecycle for new accelerator platforms such as Trainium, TPU, and GPU
  • Define the platform normalization layer for integration with the inference stack
  • Collaborate with AWS, GCP, Azure, and chip vendors on roadmaps and capacity planning
  • Contribute to Anthropic's multi-cloud compute strategy and avoid vendor lock-in
Requirements & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience managing infrastructure or platform engineering teams
  • Deep fluency in systems programming, distributed systems, or hardware/software co-design
  • Experience bringing up heterogeneous compute infra at scale (GPU, TPU, ASIC, FPGA)
  • Strategic thinker about hardware roadmaps; capable of translating capabilities into engineering plans
  • Excellent at building cross-functional relationships with vendors, cloud partners, and internal teams
