IP General Counsel

Job Overview

As the Associate General Counsel for Intellectual Property, you will be responsible for leading global IP initiatives, setting strategic IP portfolio direction, developing scalable processes with outside counsel, creating and maintaining internal IP policies and programs, engaging externally on IP policy issues, advising on strategic IP deals, and offering guidance on various IP issues across patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, and open source.

Responsibilities

• Own global IP initiatives
• Set and execute strategic IP portfolio direction
• Create scalable processes with outside counsel
• Develop and maintain internal IP policies and programs
• Engage externally on IP policy issues
• Advise on strategic IP deals
• Advise on IP issues across patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, open source
• Build internal AI expertise, processes, and tools to support the legal team

Requirements & Qualifications

• 10+ years IP experience at tech companies and/or law firms
• Ownership mindset
• Curious about tech
• Strong judgment in ambiguity
• JD and CA bar license or qualification
• Hybrid work model: 3 days in office per week
