Lead VFX Artist

Job Overview

Lead and balance hands-on VFX asset creation with team leadership. Plan, create and test content pipelines with Principal VFX Artist before deployment. Oversee external VFX partners to ensure onboarding to standards and quality. Scope, estimate work, build schedules, assign tasks for VFX deliverables. Develop visual targets with Art Directors; maintain cohesive VFX style. Ensure VFX content is performant and aligned with Art Direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and balance hands-on VFX asset creation with team leadership.
• Plan, create, and test content pipelines with Principal VFX Artist before deployment.
• Oversee external VFX partners to ensure onboarding to standards and quality.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Advanced Houdini and Maya for VFX; rigging, animation, fluids.
• 3D modeling and procedural UV’ing skills.
• Strong experience with Unreal/Unity and shader networks.
• Real-time VFX tools: Unreal Niagara, PopcornFX.
• MEL, Python, Houdini VEX, and HLSL scripting.
• Photoshop textures; Substance Designer; Blender/Nuke a plus.
