MongoDB Support Engineer

Join our team as a MongoDB Support Engineer, where you will provide essential database and automation support within a dynamic 24/7 Linux environment. This remote role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Linux system administration, supporting enterprise clients and collaborating closely with technical teams.

Job Overview

• Deliver comprehensive support for MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and related database services in a Linux environment.
• Respond to customer requests via tickets, chats, and monitor system alerts.
• Work in a flexible, remote, shift-based schedule including weekends and holidays as part of a 24/7 operations team.
• Participate in on-call rotations for regular shift hours and emergency escalations.
• Collaborate with DBAs, SREs, account managers, and developers to resolve complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve database application alerts, upgrades, patching, and performance issues.
• Ensure data restorals, replication, backups, and optimal system performance.
• Conduct operating system and network troubleshooting.
• Maintain and improve database configurations and automation scripts.
• Document technical solutions and communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with MongoDB or Elasticsearch support, DBA, or development.
• 2+ years of Linux system administration, preferably Debian or CentOS.
• Experience in Linux system automation using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Scripting experience with shell scripting or Python.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Exposure to additional technologies such as Redis, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, and Kafka is a plus.
