On-Call Animator Designer

Join Udacity's dynamic Video Production team as an On-Call Animator, collaborating remotely to create engaging 2D and 3D animations for our course and marketing content. As part of a flexible contractor pool, you'll work closely with designers, editors, and producers to deliver high-quality visuals that support learners worldwide. This fast-paced, remote role requires strong animation skills, effective communication, and excellent organizational habits.

Key Responsibilities

• Create animated 2D or 3D videos using After Effects.
• Design assets in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Follow storyboards and production scripts, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
• Communicate frequently with project teams via Slack and email.
• Receive and incorporate feedback at multiple stages of the project.
• Organize assets using Udacity's standard file structure.
• Collaborate with senior animators, producers, and content designers as part of a cross-functional team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with After Effects.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Experience with 3D animation software or plugins (C4D, Maya, Blender, 3DS Max, or Element 3D).
• Strong shape layer animation, layout, and typography skills.
• Excellent attention to timing, spacing, and design details, with ability to follow a style guide.
• Track record of successful remote work and team collaboration.
• Access to required hardware and software (minimum 16GB RAM, dedicated GPU with at least 4GB).
