Podcast Transcription Automation

We are seeking a highly skilled developer to build an automated podcast transcription and summarization workflow inspired by Tomasz Tunguz's “Parakeet Podcast Processor.” This role involves designing a terminal-based system to process, transcribe, and extract actionable insights from multiple weekly podcast feeds. The ideal candidate will have experience with audio processing, natural language processing (NLP), and AI-driven summarization, enabling rapid content digestion for knowledge workers and investors.

Job Overview

• Develop a custom workflow to automate podcast downloads, transcription, and summarization.
• Implement advanced AI models for transcript cleaning, summarization, and insight extraction.
• Design efficient database storage and retrieval solutions for large transcript datasets.
• Enable rapid, end-to-end control via terminal scripting for maximum efficiency and customization.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate daily retrieval of podcast episodes from multiple RSS feeds.
• Process audio files using transcription models (e.g., Whisper, Parakeet).
• Clean and refine transcripts using state-of-the-art NLP and AI techniques.
• Extract summaries, key quotes, company mentions, and actionable insights for blog and CRM enrichment.
• Integrate feedback loops for iterative content improvement and style matching.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and terminal-based scripting.
• Experience with audio processing tools (e.g., FFmpeg).
• Expertise in AI/ML models for transcription and NLP (OpenAI Whisper, Nvidia Parakeet, Gemma 3, Claude, Gemini).
• Hands-on experience with local databases (DuckDB or similar).
• Strong understanding of RSS automation and podcast data handling.
• Ability to build scalable pipelines for multi-step automation.
• Familiarity with AI prompt engineering and feedback loops.
• Background in content summarization and insight extraction.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability for rapid workflow customization.
• Remote work experience and self-driven project management skills.
