Job Overview

As a Propulsion Development Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, building, and testing propulsion components and subsystems. You will drive hardware from concept to flight production, conduct hands-on development and hot-fire campaigns at the Mojave test site, and support electric propulsion development at various facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Own the design, analysis, build, and test of propulsion components and subsystems
  • Drive hardware from concept through qualification, acceptance testing, and flight production
  • Execute hands-on development and hot-fire campaigns at Mojave test site
  • Support electric propulsion development at Vast facilities and NASA test centers
  • Apply first-principles engineering to support design decisions and communication
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in aerospace or mechanical engineering by June 2026
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical, fluids, or propulsion systems
  • Willingness to travel frequently to the Mojave test site in year one
  • CAD tools proficiency: NX, Creo, or CATIA; GD&T and production drawings
  • FEA experience with ANSYS or FEMAP
  • Background in spacecraft, launch vehicle, or high-reliability aerospace systems
