Job Overview

As a Propulsion Materials Engineer, you will provide materials and process support for propulsion system designs and manufacturing, focusing on increasing reliability and improving additive processes and materials. This role involves working closely with additive engineering and manufacturing teams to enhance material properties and develop advanced manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Provide materials and process support for propulsion system designs
  • Increase reliability of internal designs and manufacturing processes
  • Develop physical, mechanical, and thermal properties for materials
  • Improve additive processes and materials through characterization and development
  • Perform root cause investigations using fractography, metallography, and testing
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in materials engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of professional materials engineering experience
  • Experience with additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion
  • Knowledge of aerospace metals including nickel-based alloys, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience
