Job Overview

Lead and own critical aspects of backend engineering infrastructure for a fast-growing health-focused platform.
Drive technical decision-making and collaborate on the planning and execution of large-scale projects.
Contribute to feature development, maintenance, and continual improvement of RESTful APIs.
Champion code quality, engineering discipline, and team growth through code reviews and technical mentorship.
Participate in hiring by interviewing and evaluating engineering candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Own and enhance overarching engineering infrastructure.
Lead important technical discussions and help the team reach optimal solutions.
Collaborate with engineering leads to plan and execute complex projects.
Contribute directly to feature development and maintenance.
Elevate code quality through reviews, testing, and refactoring.
Present technical topics and mentor team members.
Participate in interviews and hiring decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

5+ years of commercial software development experience.
3+ years of experience with Python and its ecosystem.
3+ years designing and extending RESTful APIs.
3+ years working with web frameworks (Django preferred, Flask, Rails).
2+ years of relational SQL experience.
2+ years troubleshooting production issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Commitment to high-quality engineering standards.
Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the United States.
