Job Overview

• Craft core user experiences across VRChat's platforms, focusing on presence, emotion, and social connection.
• Lead the evolution and stewardship of our design system for consistency and scalability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to design features supporting events, groups, and emergent social interactions.
• Champion human-centered and systems thinking in all aspects of product design.
• Contribute to a fully distributed, remote-first team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design intuitive flows, interactions, and UI for social VR experiences.
• Partner with design leads, PMs, and engineers to deliver polished features.
• Translate abstract concepts into wireframes, prototypes, and visuals using Figma.
• Maintain and evolve the design system across client, web, and mobile platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement accessible and performant UI.
• Stay informed about community behaviors and emergent platform usage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in product design, preferably across desktop, mobile, and VR.
• Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma) and design systems.
• Strong systems thinking and human-centered design approach.
• Ability to communicate design rationale and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
• Passion for online communities, social VR, and emergent digital behavior.
• Understanding of accessibility and cross-platform scalability.
• Bonus: Familiarity with trust, safety, moderation, or avatar-based UX.
