Khan Academy India is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Telugu Content Localization Specialist to help deliver world-class educational resources in Telugu. As part of our India Content Team, you will play a vital role in localizing math and science instructional materials for millions of learners. This fully remote, freelance opportunity allows you to work from home while making a significant impact on education across India.

Job Overview

Localize and review math and science content from English to Telugu, ensuring accuracy and pedagogical quality.
Collaborate with state teachers to gather feedback and incorporate improvements into localized materials.
Develop and maintain glossaries for specialized educational terminology.
Perform quality audits and ensure content meets context, clarity, and curriculum standards.
Contribute to Khan Academy’s mission to provide accessible, free education for all learners in India.

Key Responsibilities

Review, edit, and create localized Telugu content for math and science subjects.
Conduct quality checks focusing on contextualization, rigor, and clarity.
Interact with teachers to understand on-ground needs and incorporate feedback.
Research and ensure accurate translation of specialist terminology.
Proofread, edit, and ensure linguistic and educational consistency in all materials.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Native fluency in Telugu (speaking and writing).
Comfortable with math and/or science up to class XII level.
Prior experience in academic localization and content creation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality audits.
Proficiency in English for accurate localization.
Experience with Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
Familiarity with state board and NCERT textbooks.
Tech-savvy and curious about online teaching tools.
Experience with video creation or online teaching is a plus.
Ability to develop and update terminology glossaries.
