As a Transaction Monitoring Manager, you will lead the evolution of our AML compliance and transaction monitoring ecosystem, driving automation, risk detection, and scalable processes for a global remote team.

Job Overview

We seek an innovative and automation-minded Transaction Monitoring Manager to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of transaction monitoring. You will be responsible for managing remote teams, optimizing alert logic, and ensuring our AML controls scale with company growth. This role is critical in advancing our monitoring infrastructure and maintaining audit-readiness in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a high-performing team of Transaction Monitoring analysts, ensuring workflow efficiency and case quality.
Optimize and tune monitoring rules for fiat and crypto transactions, focusing on alert quality and false positive reduction.
Collaborate with Fraud, Product, and Data teams to design and implement automated alerting mechanisms.
Own TM reporting, KPIs, SLA tracking, and enhance audit-readiness through robust documentation.
Develop governance for rule tuning, model validation, and ongoing risk assessments.
Implement quality control reviews and escalate SAR-worthy cases in line with BSA/AML regulations.
Build scalable, technology-driven processes for transaction reviews and compliance operations.
Drive innovation across Airtm’s monitoring ecosystem, challenging legacy practices and executing improvements.
Participate in regulatory audits and serve as the subject matter expert for all transaction monitoring matters.

Requirements & Qualifications

5+ years of experience in AML compliance, including 2+ years managing or building transaction monitoring programs.
Strong understanding of AML typologies, rule-based and behavior-based monitoring, and MSB regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in alert logic improvement and workflow automation.
Proficiency with alerting systems, SQL, data tools, and compliance case management platforms.
Demonstrated ability to lead remote teams across diverse geographies.
Excellent communication skills and a builder’s mindset for scalable systems.
Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or cross-border MSBs is a plus.
Hands-on experience with compliance tooling integrations or monitoring infrastructure.
Relevant certifications such as CAMS or CFE are desirable.
Knowledge of sanctions controls and crypto monitoring; fluency in English required, Spanish, Urdu, or Hindi is a plus.
