VTOL Aircraft GNC Engineer

Job Overview

As a Staff GNC Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing flight control algorithms for VTOL aircraft. Your role will involve building simulations, running trade studies, collaborating with Flight Test, and analyzing flight data to improve system models and validate software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement flight control algorithms for VTOL aircraft
• Build simulations to verify and validate system requirements
• Run trade studies to inform aircraft design and system architecture
• Collaborate with Flight Test to design tests for evaluating vehicle capabilities
• Improve the fidelity and capabilities of vehicle and environment simulation models
• Analyze flight data to improve models and validate GNC software

Requirements & Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience
• OR MS with at least 4 years of relevant experience
• OR PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and control theory
