Adobe Commerce Tech Lead

Glen Raven seeks an experienced Adobe Commerce Technical Lead to architect, develop, and optimize our Sunbrella Commerce platform. This key role will drive all aspects of technical strategy, oversee platform upgrades, and ensure performance, security, and best practices. You will lead a small team, manage complex migrations, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement Adobe Commerce (Magento) solutions, including custom module development and integrations.
• Lead migration projects for PHP 8.3/8.4, MySQL upgrades, and cache/session management transition from Redis to Valkey.
• Oversee compatibility audits, enforce coding standards, and refactor legacy code for security and performance.
• Optimize caching strategies (Fastly, Valkey), CDN configurations, and overall page speed.
• Supervise and mentor frontend and backend developers, conducting code reviews and fostering continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with QA, project management, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions on schedule.
• Monitor and optimize system performance using observability tools like New Relic.
• Ensure robust integrations with RabbitMQ, OpenSearch, LiveSearch, and other platform components.
• Proactively address security risks and ensure compliance with modern standards.
• Stay current with Adobe Commerce roadmap and plan/implement feature rollouts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), including custom module development and upgrades.
• Deep expertise in object-oriented PHP (8.3/8.4), MySQL, Valkey/Redis, LiveSearch, and Fastly CDN.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and modern software architecture.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and managing complex upgrade projects.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality tools (PHPCBF, PSR-2).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Preferred: Adobe Commerce certifications, experience with Azure/AWS, third-party integrations (Akeneo, Cybersource, Bazaarvoice), and accessibility standards.
