The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a remote Movement Communications Specialist to join our global team. As the non-profit organization operating Wikipedia and related projects, we are dedicated to fostering open knowledge for all. This full-time role offers the flexibility to work remotely within UTC-7 to UTC+1 and focuses on strengthening communication across our movement.

Job Overview

Support effective communication within the Wikimedia movement.
Engage with diverse global communities and stakeholders.
Promote transparency and collaboration across projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement communication strategies for movement initiatives.
Facilitate dialogue among Wikimedia contributors, affiliates, and partners.
Create informative content for newsletters, blogs, and social media.
Gather feedback and insights from community members.
Monitor and report on communication effectiveness and engagement.

Requirements & Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience in community engagement or movement communications.
Ability to work independently and remotely across time zones.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness.
