Join ustwo as a React Native Tech Lead to lead the ongoing delivery and enhancement of a high-impact mobile app for a global beauty brand. This maternity cover role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a passion for building robust, user-focused mobile experiences, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, and delivering continuous improvements to a live product used by a global audience. The position is open for candidates in Portugal (remote) or Malmö (hybrid).

Job Overview

Lead technical direction and feature delivery for a React Native mobile app already in production.
Collaborate with product, design, delivery, and engineering teams to enhance user experience and app performance.
Act as a primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring alignment on roadmap and feature development.
Plan and oversee work across frontend and backend (Typescript/GCP) teams.
Drive best practices in mobile development, security, and app quality.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, and implementation of new app features to increase user engagement and reach.
Oversee technical architecture and code quality, including code reviews and technical debt management.
Coordinate with backend engineers to deliver seamless, performant integrations.
Support release management, app store submissions, and beta testing processes.
Mentor and enable team members, remove blockers, and foster a collaborative environment.
Engage with client stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve technical challenges.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Extensive experience with React Native app development, including accessibility and automated testing.
Proficiency with the React Native ecosystem, Expo, and mobile-specific best practices.
Experience integrating native modules using Swift (iOS) and/or Kotlin (Android).
Strong understanding of mobile app security, secure storage, and transport layer security.
Track record of building and releasing apps on the App Store and Google Play, including familiarity with Xcode and Android Studio.
Experience with Firebase for app distribution, analytics, and authentication.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver features incrementally while maintaining user focus.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
Full-stack awareness and ability to coordinate across frontend and backend dependencies.
Leadership experience in agile, cross-functional teams.
