Job Overview

Ubuntu Linux Kernel Engineer - Silicon Enablement position at Canonical targeting individuals with a strong software development background focusing on hardware-level optimization for System on Chip platforms. Responsibilities

Collaborate with a global team
Integrate platform support with silicon vendors
Diagnose and resolve kernel issues
Deliver silicon-optimized Ubuntu Linux kernels
Maximize performance on partner silicon

Requirements & Qualifications

Significant C programming ability
Strong grasp of device drivers, BSP's, and hardware-level system engineering
Experience with Linux kernel patching and debugging
Understanding of performance optimization for silicon platforms
Python and Bash scripting ability
Prior background with major SoC families
Ubuntu/Debian/Snap packaging experience
Good knowledge of git, operating system kernel fundamentals
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Willingness to travel twice a year for company events
