Our services include: Nation Rebuilding: We provide support to BC First Nations in rebuilding their nations by supporting good governance, economic development, community engagement, and fostering positive relationships with other nations and governments.

Community Research, Planning, & Development: We work with BC First Nations to identify and prioritize their development needs, address their community challenges, and develop strategies to achieve their goals and aspirations.

First Nations Training Programs: We offer training programs to BC First Nations, covering topics such as leadership and governance, community planning and development, conflict resolution and negotiation, and building positive relationships with other nations and governments. Right Relations Training: Our Right Relations Training program is designed to help individuals and organizations build authentic relationships with Indigenous peoples, communities, and cultures.

The program covers a range of topics, including history, culture, stereotypes, and current issues facing Indigenous peoples in Canada. About Us Established in 1997, Carden Consulting has more than a quarter of a century of service excellence utilizing a strengths-based, culturally relevant Nation Rebuilding approach with BC First Nations. Our founder, Laara E.

Yaghujaanas, M.A., is from the yaghu ‘jaanas clan of the Haida Nation and carries her great grandmother's name “Kun G aadaas”.

Laara holds a master’s degree from Royal Roads University, was awarded the Royal Roads University Founders Award, has completed the Justice Institute Conflict Resolution and Negotiation course, is a CTT Certified Consultant (Level 2), a member of the Council of Native Development Officers (CANDO), a member of the New Relationship Trust Economic Development Support Team, and is an Advisor for the Indigenous Business Awards. Mark F.

Salter, our business and life partner, has worked with First Nations for more than ten years, including management services and developing intergovernmental partnerships.

Mark has also completed the Justice Institute Conflict Resolution and Mediation Program, has been recognized by the Capital Regional District and Lieutenant Governor General for Environmental Leadership (benefitting the regions of Southern Vancouver Island), and is committed to maximizing First Peoples benefits from UNDRIP, DRIPA and FPIC.
