Dawn Payne is our Executive Assistant and the first point of contact for clients at Taproot Law. With 45 years of experience in nursing and emergency care, Dawn understands the importance of compassion and empathy in creating a positive client experience.
She enjoys learning new things and bringing growth to her environment and the people around her. We believe in coaching our clients to map their values, goals, and known options, and generate more options to create a strategy that moves them closer to their goals.
We offer coaching sessions to help our clients gain the direction they need to resolve their issue on their own, potentially avoiding costly legal representation. Our team works together with clients to develop simple plans and processes, minimizing friction and trauma while achieving optimal outcomes. Erica's Experience Erica's experience in the legal field started in college, where she interned with a criminal law firm in Houghton.
She gained an understanding of how UP law firms work and decided to concentrate on general practice during law school. She eventually found her niche in estate planning, working as a solo estate planning attorney and then at a traditional small to mid-sized law firm in Marquette. Here, she developed her passion for real estate litigation, managing complex cases that involve prescriptive easements, implied easements, and easements by necessity.
