Key Responsibilities

• Resolve complex customer issues across Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software.
• Troubleshoot, develop bug fixes, backport patches, and drive upstream inclusion for critical software issues.
• Collaborate with Field, Support, and product engineering teams to ensure customer success.
• Review code, participate in process improvements, and maintain clear technical communication.
• Contribute to upstream communities and ensure software quality for millions of users worldwide.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Exceptional academic track record in Computer Science, STEM, or related fields.
• Proven experience with Linux and open source technologies.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and a drive to deep-dive into complex technical issues.
• Outstanding communication, accountability, and self-motivation in a remote, distributed environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% of work time.
• Interest or experience in Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Debian packaging, and distributed systems.
