The California FAIR Plan Association seeks a dynamic Communications Specialist to support its mission of providing essential fire insurance coverage to high-risk properties in California. This role focuses on optimizing both internal and external communications, supporting broker relations, and enhancing information dissemination for diverse audiences. The position is ideal for professionals with strong communication, writing, and design skills who thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Key Responsibilities

Support Broker Relations and Communications departments in optimizing communication strategies and programs.
Draft, design, and execute internal and external materials such as newsletters, email campaigns, guides, videos, and web content.
Collaborate across departments to identify communication needs and create impactful materials.
Provide research-backed recommendations and assist with communication initiatives and senior staff collaboration.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology integration in communication workflows.
Perform administrative tasks to support department operations and strategic objectives.
Ensure compliance with organizational values and applicable federal and state regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Writing, Marketing, English, or related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience designing and creating written and visual communications materials.
Proven writing skills and ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated design proficiency and understanding of effective visual communication.
Strong interpersonal skills with a client-service orientation.
Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities.
Experience supporting complex communication strategies for large or cross-functional projects; insurance industry experience a plus.
Familiarity with property insurance principles is advantageous.
